The Lower Hudson Valley is filled with beautiful forests which benefit wildlife and purify our water supply. Our forests are also home to a uniquely delicious local product, the shiitake mushroom. In this workshop, you will be given a hands-on introduction to producing log-grown shiitake. You will learn how to design the perfect laying yard and experience the steps to growing shiitake by inoculating your own log.

This spring we will be offering an introductory workshop in partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Watershed Agricultural Council.

CHOOSE ONE of the following workshop times:

  • Saturday, March 24 – 10am-12pm
  • Saturday, March 24 – 1pm-3pm

This is adult-only, and there is a 15-person limit per workshop.

Advance registration is required.
$20 fee per person includes inoculated log to take home
