For community members, landowners, forestry professionals and conservation groups, Clearpool Model Forest serves to educate about water quality, biodiversity, forest ecosystems, and human interaction with the natural landscape. Environmental educators and experts in forestry, nature study, and conservation lead informative workshops and demonstrate best practices in sustainable land and forest management, from large forested properties to your own backyard!

Monthly Model Forest Workshops begin with Forest Farming: Maple, Mushroom, and Ginseng on Monday, September 23rd. Explore “Agroforestry” - the combination of agriculture and forestry to create more diverse, productive and sustainable land-use systems – with a full-day program featuring educators from Cornell University and hands-on demonstrations in maple-tapping, mushroom farming and growing ginseng. Upcoming Model Forest programs include plant and wildlife identification hikes, a dinner lecture series, and an annual conference for environmental professionals and educators.
